Good alternative to the big five - American National Property & Casualty
30 June 2008ANPAC seems to be a good company, the agent is friendly and knows his stuff, and their cash back after three years claim free on home and auto coverage is 25% of premium. I also checked out their Best insurance rating and they were given a rating of A+ which is very good. They have only been in the auto and home market for 25yrs. so they aren’t as well known as Allstate or Farmers, but they have been in the Life insurance field for many years and are very stable company. They also offer a 15% discount on premiums if you put your home,auto,life with them, which seemed to me very generous.

30 June 2008My husband and I lived in the San Francisco Bay Area for 9 years. You want to talk about pricey insurance, just ask anyone who lives in the West Coast - particularly the Bay Area! Our insurance company at the time we originally moved to California in 1987, was State Farm Imagine my shock after shortly moving to California and our rates tripled. The insurance agent of course explained this to us rather well. Insurance rates are based on the area in which you live - the incidence of accidents and comprehensive claims. This sure does sound logical, but when you get the bill - let me tell you, logic goes out the window and panic sets in!

I was hit by one of thier policy holder recently, been a pain ever since. Had my car looked at by a local body shop gave me a accptable estimant(non-totaled) then when Kemper’s adjuster came (the shop said he made his mind up once he drove up) he totaled my car–conicodently the price equal to the KBB value. The price difference between the two is significant, the body shop has a clean record and I know of the owner.
NO mechanical damage to my vehicle just body. In my opinion Kemper is wishing to profit from my loss. Kemper offered to give me only 75% of what KBB values my vehicle (they do not recongize KBB cause “KBB is too high(includes retail)”, and was about 10% less the NADA also and no where near market value for my area.
If Kemper sees a chance to make money they will(I and the BodyShop have offered to sign a contract releaseing them from liability and a contract price, but they said “We will not have your vehicle repaired”) even if you don’t hold one of their policies

30 June 2008I’ve been a customer for at least 3 or 4 years.
Occasionally I have questions about my policy, such as whether I was getting a Good Driver discount, or if the usage of an anti-theft device would get me a discount. The company has generally been competent in answering my questions.

This is Terrible company. They Will find any way to get out of paying on a claim. They also try to push it to the limit so that when you are capable of disputing a claim there are only 30 days after the claim was submitted to actually dispute it.
My dog is two and a half years old. I have had the policy since he was four months old. He blew out his anterior cruciate ligament last fall and his surgery cost $4500, they gave me back $1500…pathetic. He blew out the other knee in Jan. 07 and just had surgery in Sept. 07 and it cost $4300, they didn’t give me any money for that one. When I asked why they said that it was determined that he was diagnosed simultaneously with two blown out knees which he did not injure together. They claim that it is considered 1 incident. So for a grand total of $9000 which was an accident..he fell over a log
for the first knee and down the stairs for the second knee. Don’t waste your time on this veterinary pet insurance. It is not worth the price! You think that you are getting coverage.. I have the superior plan and there is nothing superior about it. Everything about this company is a scam…don’t do it.
Competitor’s rates are bogus! - Progressive Group - Auto
30 June 2008I have tried out Progressive’s rates 2 times now. I am convinced they do not want my business. They are always the highest of the three they give me. This prompted me to visit both State Farm and Allstate. After talking to their agents, I found out that the quote I was given by Progressive comes no where close to what they would charge! Both quoted me higher than Progressive, and about $200 more than the phone quote I was given! I do not know how they come up with the comparison rates for other companies, but do not trust them. Call the insurers themselves.

30 June 2008I am a 26 year old male that has had a few bumps on the driving record. I used to use Allstate. With allstate I was paying over $200 a month for full coverage on 1 car. With Progressive, I am paying just over $120 per month for full coverage on two cars. My family needed a second car and the drop in insurance let me buy one. I talked with two of the reps and they treated me with the upmost respect. I work in a call center and hear the way people talk. Progressive is even automatically pulling the payment from my account. I would recommend this company for insurance to the younger generation drivers first. However, I am working on getting my father to switch from GEICO to Progressive on his cars and boats. I do not feel anyone could go wrong with progressive. On all of my driving years I have used GEICO, ALLSTATE, NATIONWIDE, and SUPERIOR, I am staying with Progressive for the price and customer service. Thank You Progressive…

30 June 2008Every renewal for my auto insurance I check around, this year was a complete hassel. UNTIL I called Liberty Mutual, my brother and mother and father have their insurance there also. I was so impressed with the speed in which I got my quote, they were the only company that actually explained coverages to me. With Liberty Mutual I got much better coverage and am paying less than did with my other company. The only downside is that they couldn’t give me a homeowners quote at their 1800 # I had to call a local office, but I received a discount for having both my homeowners and auto together with them.I highly suggest that anyone with an automobile or home contact Liberty Mutual and give them a chance to quote you.

30 June 2008Money can come up needed at an unexpected time. One of those times can be when an animal gets hit by a car, or when a dog eats a rock, or your diamond ring. Yes, these bills can come up and add up very very fast. I really believe in pet insurance. Who ever thought this up was a genious, I say that because I always thought about doing it myself. ha ha.Well any way if you ever do decide to get a pet you need to get pet insurance, they can get cancer to, eyes can go bad and they need a burial too. or an exray. you just never know what kind of trouble your beloved animal cam cause themselves or others.

30 June 2008Just finish watching a report on Dateline about State Farm Ins Co, Let me first say I wish i was a policy holder so i could cancel my account……As it is I would hope every person who has an account with them would switch to somebody else, That would send a real message……In case you missed it, State Farm denied legit medical claims by having independent companies write differing medical opinions. Turns out that the people writing the opinions were not always doctors, Some reports were reviewed by doctors who signed them and were later changed by the company to favor the insurance companies without the doctors knowledge……There’s more, lots more but the bottom line is this, state farm used these companies so they could cheat people and fired their own employees who spoke up about it. Kinda of makes ya proud to be an american…..I’m sure state farm will survive this, they should’nt but they will, People in this country don’t seem to do much about injustice unless they are directly involved, so for all you state farm policy holders; Your insurance company just got caught cheating your neighbors, What are you gonna do about it ?
