I just learned from an Erie agent an hour ago that NEW customers are REQUIRED to purchase ALL liability insurance from Erie… not just AUTO (i.e., Home) plus ALL autos in the household !! She Just returned from a district meeting in Peoria, IL where the new policy was announced. This agent didn’t respond to voice mails or FAX for 3 days. Obviously a VERY “independent” agent. The new policy is likely to cost Erie more new business than they are suspecting. I found their homeowners to NOT be competitive anyway. I found their homeowners to NOT be competitive anyway.
