After doing some homework (Epinions, etc.), my husband and I decided to try Electric Insurance. We were a bit apprehensive, because we had not heard of Electric before and only learned of it through Epinions. The home rate was not the absolute lowest we had found, but the auto rate would cut our insurance cost in half. We have always shopped around for insurance each year, so to find a company offering such a dramatic savings was surprising. Again, we were a little skeptical of this.
We decided to go ahead and give Electric a try, and we have been nothing but impressed. The website is easy to navigate and clearly offers details of your policies. The customer service has been outstanding each time we have called. We have not had any claims, thankfully, but all other adjustments and such to our policy have been made easily and with friendly, helpful service.
At some point during our first year with the company, we received a letter saying that Electric had noticed we seemed to be over-insured for the amount our house was appraised at and offered us a lower rate for the lesser insurance. I’ve never had a company tell me that I seemed to be overpaying them. I contacted them and we actually came up with an amount somewhere in the middle.
The big test seemed to come at our one year anniversary with the company - renewal time. Our home insurance increased only a few dollars for the year and our auto remained exactly the same (a first)! We have always experienced increases (often large) in insurance each year, even though my husband and I have not, thankfully, had any tickets, accidents, or claims.
From my experience thus far, I can certainly recommend Electric Insurance Company. If you are considering Electric, visit their website and give them a call. I’m sure someone would be happy to speak with you.
