I just got a bill in the mail and was so irritated I had to come and write an opinion on it. I recently switched insurance companies back in Sept I’ve had Allstate for over 19 years now but heard so much about everyone getting better deals so I started calling other insurance companies and found a much better rate that would save me about 20 bucks a month, so I went ahead and had my new agent switch she made the date effective for when my other Allstate policy was going to run out.I therefore called my agent and had told them I was going with a new insurance he asked why etc but I finally told him bottom line was that it was a lot cheaper. So now today 4 months later I get a bill from a collection agency for an outstanding Allstate bill for OCT. I call the phone number on the bill from the collection agency and I get a person speaking Spanish as if I can understand them since I speak English. So in the meantime I finally get someone that can talk English and they tell me that Allstate is not allowed to double charge me since I was covered by another insurance policy at that time.
We are talking 54.00 dollars, I mean for goodness sake I never heard one word from my agent from Allstate and then all of sudden get this??? What kind of company did I have trust in for 19 years…. Never again that’s for sure, because now I have to do their paperwork for them, I have to send this collection agency a copy of my declaration to prove I had insurance, which hey to me it doesn’t matter it’s none of their business if I have insurance or not that’s MY CHOICE!!!!!
