I was a customer of Cincinnati Insurance for 8 years. During that time I had a few small claims including windshield replacement, windshield repair and a $660.00 claim for hail damage. Whenever I would call in for a claim, my agent would ask where I wanted to get it fixed. They would either send someone to my home for windshield work or tell me to take it to my preferred shop for body repair. The only reason I switched to Traveler’s was the fact that I added my 16 year old son on the policy and my rates skyrocketed. Last week while parked in a parking garage my door was keyed. I contacted Traveler’s, my new company and was informed my rates would go up for claiming a $529.00 comprehensive loss. The great price I got for switching from Cincinnati to my new crappy company is now coming back to bite me. I guess the old saying that you get what you pay for is true. I am in the process of trying to return to Cincinnati Insurance. They are by far the best insurance company I have been insured with since 1977. Their home owner’s insurance is also fantastic. They cut me a check for $15,039.00 for hail damage to my home within a week of the claim.
