Geico Direct may quote a rate cheaper than your current insurance company,but their service is horrible. I applied for an on-line quote and was quoted a rate cheaper than my current insurance. So I applied for Geico over the internet with the automatic withdrawal of the deposit from my bank account. Two days later I had to call and cancel the application due to personal circumstances and requested that the money not be taken out of my account. Trusting their word, I was told that the new policy I had applied for was cancelled and the money would not be taken out.
About a week and a half later, one my checks did not go through and I found the reason was because the Geico representative never cancelled my policy. I had to call them back a week and a half later, only to find that out. They claimed they had no record of me calling to cancel and that they would refund my money minus charges they took out and that it would be mailed the next day. The problem I have with that is, how do I know they cancelled this time and how do I know that they will mail my refund.
They do not have local offices where you can go in and complain, only phone numbers. And they only have one or two representatives on duty at a time per day, so the company must not be that large. And where is the local Geico office?
I do not recommend Geico Insurance to anyone and wish this opinion could be displayed on television so everyone could be aware.
