I’ve had my car insurance with Geico for about a year now. I am very happy with them overall. First of all, they gave me a great rate. I live in downtown Chicago, and rarely drive my car except on weekends. I got quotes from some insurers of up to $4,000 a year (that’s more than my lease payment!). Meanwhile Geico came in with the lowest quote, even compared to other direct insurance providers.
Customer service on the phone has always been good. Every time I’ve needed to call for any reason, they person has been friendly and helpful. They do tend to try to sell you additional services while they’ve got you on the line (such as roadside breakdown insurance) but if you just say "no" they don’t pressure you or anything.
They have also recently enhanced their website, and you can now get very detailed views of your coverage, make changes, and a number of other services, all online.
Fortunately, I have not yet needed to make a claim with Geico, so I really can’t comment on their service in that department. But so far, I am pleased.
