I have been a Geico customer for several years, and each dealing I have with their customer service department is worse. When I called on a Saturday to switch cars on my policy, I was very happy that they were able to do the switch and fax a proof of coverage to the auto dealer almost immediatley. My joy was short lived. When I acquired another car.and called to add it, I was informed that my policy had been cancelled for non-payment. Instead of switching the first car I got, they added it, and charged me for both. That used up all of my pre-paid premium, so they cancelled me when that ran out. When I tried to correct that problem, and add the new car, they wanted proof that I had sold the original car or $460. for a down payment. After 30 minutes of waiting for a supervisor, explaining the whole thing again, she finally agreed to credit me for the coverage on the car I didn’t even have. And then proceded to add the 2nd. car. And get the coverages wrong, not putting comp/collision on a car that is only a few years old and is financed. They even faxed a proof of coverage to the dealer, showing coverage, but it wasn’t on the declaration page, and the price they quoted didn’t include it. I’m shopping around.
