I had an accident where the other driver was not wearing corrective lenses (as required on his license). The first adjuster told me that he had no way of getting any information on the license restrictions (even though all insurance companies can easily get this information from the DMV) and told me that I would have to obtain the physical license and send it to him.

I had that adjuster thrown off the case. The supervisor admitted that the first adjuster was wrong and that his statements were inappropriate. When the case was reassigned, I hoped for someone competent. No such luck. The second adjuster got the information from the DMV (which clearly showed that the driver was required to wear corrective lenses), but never contacted me and never bothered to listen to the statement of the other driver (who admitted he was not wearing corrective lenses at the time of the accident).

The second adjuster did nothing with this information, which clearly showed that the other party was at fault.

The manager (supervisor of the supervisor of these two adjusters) then tried to defend the first adjuster(even though the supervisor had already admitted that the first supervisor was wrong). The manager also never bothered to review the case or listen to the other driver’s statement. She was more interested in covering up the initial mistakes made by the two adjusters than in getting at the truth or protecting the interest of either me or USAA.

I have been a USAA member for almost 25 years, but their complete incompetence in handling auto claims is making me switch.

I literally can’t think of any way they could have handled this worse.
