I made the mistake of attempting to change to Allstate Insurance from Travelers. I went in to see the agent, filled out their paperwork, and was verbally ensured by the agent that I would be granted the insurance and could cancel my old insurance. Two days later, I received word from Allstate that a credit check had been done and my insurance was denied because of a past bankrupcy. I had already cancelled my old insurance, and before I could get it reinstated, I had to pay an extra $300. I had made a full disclosure and even asked the agent ahead of time would there be any problems with a credit flaw, and he indicated there would not be. Thanks Allstate…I never realized those hands of yours were covered in petroleum jelly…
