I wrote a review on Electric also for the car section, one person had a bad experience. Mine was very good!
I started out with Electric with a home policy, then added the cars 3 years ago. When you combine the policies, you do save 10% on the house policy.
6 years ago my house was burglarized. My wonderful insurance co. decided I was a big risk because of this and canceled policy. (then why do we have insurance??). Of course I was really peeved about this and wrote letters to state insurance commission and believe it or not, they backed off and said they’d reinstate my policy.
However, I didn’t know what would happen and had to look around. A coworker recommended Electric as she had them for a while. Not only did they offer to cover me, but the rates were LOWER than what I paid before! I was thrilled!!
They don’t have 24/7 coverage but who cares? Most of us do not need to make a call at 3 in the morning.
Lightning hit the water pump last year - was not happy to be without water for a couple of days but we got a check from them within 10 days. All I had to do was fax the receipt to them. No forms to fill out. They are not a huge company. Sometimes a call is not returned super promptly but they do get back to you within a day or two for a routine call.
I also got my mother to change over from Allstate to them, she saved over $200! Of course she is happy, it is paying for half of the new air conditioner!
