I had Farmers Insurance for many years. I never liked their rates much and I decided to check out Progressive. I found out that I would be saving approximately $600.00 per year if I went with Progressive. My last accident was in 1988 and my last traffic violation was in 1996, so I basically had a clean record. So far so good. No accidents, violations or incidents (yet). I noticed this week that my insurance premium dropped quite a bit and I was pretty pleased about that.
Progressive’s website was quick and convenient when shopping for a cheaper insurance. When I called Farmers Insurance to cancel it, the insurance agent asked me why and I told her that Progressive gave me a far better deal. She asked me what it was and I told her flat out what I would be paying. She tried to get me to stay with her and said that she would drop the premiums a little bit, but it was not enough.
I arrived to the conclusion that Insurance agencies can cut you a better deal if they wanted to be more aggressive and accommodating.
