An ethical insurance company - Liberty Mutual Insurance Group - Auto
14 August 2008An ethical insurance company is about a rare as a honest lawyer. I know, I am a retired lawyer. I know hundreds of lawyers, and a couple of them are honest. I have dealt with dozens of insurance companies and a couple of them are honest. Liberty Mutual in one of the honest ones.
When you present a claim, they actually try to do the right thing. They will spend money to fight a fraudulent claim. But, they will also try to quickly settle a legitimate claim promptly and fairly.

11 August 2008I do not recommend Progressive Insurance to anyone for many reasons. First, when I had insurance with Progressive every time I called for help on my policy I reached uninformed and unpersonable individuals. Second, Progressive was charging me $50 more a month for less service than I have now with Nationwide. Third, and most importantly, They cancelled my insurance, sent a letter to my bank indicating they had cancelled my insurance and are now saying (even though I have a letter from my bank) that they did not cancel it and I owe them more money… I have faxed them the letter several times and have received no help from anyone there. When you have a problem with your policy no one wants to help… when you want to buy a policy they are right there telling you why you shouldn’t buy insurance with anyone else. In short, Progressive is incompetent and does not care about its customers like all the comercials would lead you to believe. It is so nice to be with Nationwide now… I can actually call the same person I got the policy with to get help on any problems I may have (which, after switching insurance companys, I have none).

Easy. Fast. Clear. Cost efficient.
This is how I will describe my experiences with Progressive.com
I got associated with Progressive, as they were the only online insurance company who would give coverage for me as I was a Permit driver at that time. Later I continued my insurance with Progressive as they gave the best online rates and I was very much satisfied with the website and all the features online.
These are the four points that make Progressive.com attractive:
1) Fewer screens to get the quote
2) Surest lowest rate for most of the drivers.
3) Easiest interface ever, even a layman can buy insurance online with progressive.com
4) Best online customer service, eg: email service and response is awesome.

This has got to be the easiest and quickest way to buy insurance. The whole process took no more than 15 minutes. The website is extremely easy to use. The best thing about it is that you can change your coverage at any time and it tells you how much your premium will change by. You can even chat online with a representative and he/she will answer any questions you have. What a great idea. There is also a 24 hour hotline to call in case you have claims or questions. The person I talked to was very friendly and courteous. I would highly recommend ecoverage to everyone!

31 July 2008I am not your typical car owner. I own two Chevrolet Camaro’s - a 1997 Z28 and a 1969 Rally Sport (my pride and joy). So - when looking for affordable car insurance, you can imagine I had to shop around.
My old insurer was Mercury Insurance. In general, there rates were reasonable. I was paying about $1600 a year for insurance with them. My problem with Mercury was the service. When I had a little fender bender, I had to go through the usual hell of documenting the accident, getting three repair quotes - etc etc etc. I also had to sit on the phone for what seemed like days waiting for a person to answer my questions.

If I told you what I paid for six months of no frills, minimum liability insurance at Geico, you’d say I was lying.
But I am a special case. Every time I went into an agent’s office in my State of Oklahoma, I knew I’d rather have a root canal. I was polite knowing that if I described my ‘hardly ever drive’ status, that they’d say ‘…hmmmm’ and list me as a risk anyway. Single. Middle-aged. No recent insurance. ‘ugh huh." Get ready to bend over. The other day I had the check written from that position when it dawned on me that I’m a good and reasonable human being who deserves better. I aborted the deal.

29 July 2008Prudential will drop you in a heartbeat if you have a wreck despite who is at fault. My father used to work for the Prudential company and he changed all of the cars, house, and the sailboat to Prudential. At the time my parents owned my vehicle when it was switched over.

21 July 2008I had been with this company for three years, having my home warranty from them.
In May 2007 - I had my kitchen faucet broken. This was the first time, I had them do some decent work for my home. Altough talking to people, I figured fixing faucet, isn’t a big deal but these folks certainly made it look like one.

21 July 2008Well, here I go again writing about insurance groups. You might have guessed it, my same daughter who got hit last year, at almost the same time, got hit again. Again, she got lucky and it wasn’t her fault. She does keep on wondering why everybody keeps hitting her car though. She drives a purple eclipse and she really loves that car. At least we have a good auto body place to take it to.
