A couple of months before Christmas we decided to open up and redecorate our living room. We took down a wall that had separated that area into two rooms. The new larger room, roughly 15′x 30′, was fitted with new oak flooring. We painted everything a new colour, my wife did some special faux painting on one wall and I assembled, stained and finished a new electric fireplace with fine oak cabinetry. We did some decorating added a new hutch into the room and added a gallery wall with prints of artists we like. It was all complete about a week before Christmas and we had a wonderful holiday week entertaining in it.

In a time when good customer service seems to have disappeared, USAA seems to be a hold out in that area. Customer service seems to be a priority. I have found USAA’s representatives to be very friendly. Yet they maintain a very professional stance. They are happy to answer questions. The few times that I have had to use my car insurance I was treated with the utmost respect. Plus, my rates were never raised because of an accident. This is so refreshing in a world where many insurance companies try to take advantage of their customers. Their rates are very reasonable if not the cheapest for the industry. I have been with this company since 1976. I would be hard pressed to change companies largely because of the reasons stated above.

GEICO misdirection - GEICO Direct

Like most people I know, I like to save money. And when one has teenage drivers in the family, saving money starts with the car insurance. My 18 year old son had been driving for two years without any insurance claims and with only one moving violation on his record. I had seen the GEICO advertisement and decided to get a quote. I was APPALLED by the quote. At the time we were paying approximately $2400 per year for full coverage [$250 deductible] on a one year old Mustang 6cyl hard top. The GEICO quote was over $6600 for the year. When the person on the phone explained it was his age and the car model that was the problem, I asked for a quote for myself. I was 51 at the time with a perfect record and was paying less than $1000 a year, his quote was twice that.

It’s not the type of thing we enjoy spending our money on but we have to. I used so many bad companies that never really saved me money, and always wanted high down payments every year. Then I found Geico; I have been a Geico customer now for 4 or 5 years and have never, ever had a problem. And also been receiving great low rates. I have had offers from other companies to reduce my rate by $100.00 or so, but I am also very happy with the service Geico provides. And that is worth more than a $100.00 to me. They are kind, well spoken, friendly people,who talk to you like you are a friend.

Why I choose Nationwide - Nationwide - Auto

I was recently in the market for car insurance. I had unfortunately let my policy with Allstate lapse. So I hit the phone book. I called every agent in the Danville VA yellow pages. The best rates I found were with Nationwide, which surprised me, since I’ve always believed you pay more for the name backing the product or service. I went through an independent agent and had excellent service. The rates were much less than I had previously paid, and considerably less than the other insurance companies I had called.

Got My Moneys’ Worth and More - GEICO Direct

I always thought that the advertising claims of Geico Direct Auto Insurance were somewhat padded in their favor, so I stayed away from them. Frankly, it all seemed just too good to be true. I occasionally phoned them to get a quote, but never "took the plunge", so to speak, because I just assumed that these too-good-to-be-true rates would most likely result in poor coverage in the event of an accident.

CGU Not that Great I Agree - CGU

Last year my insurance agent tried to do me a favor by switching me to a less expensive car insurance. I was originally under my parents’ policy with Hanover. When I bought my own car, my agent told me that I would likely pay less than $1000 a year for insurance if I went with CGU. So I did.

Every time I turn around I am making an insurance payment. We have: Health insurance, life insurance (though it’s not worth a penny till you die, so it’s really DEATH insurance!) Car insurance, home insurance…..

As a self employed man, I must provide my own health insurance. I have a plan currently, and I’m happy with my coverage, but NOT happy with my premium!

Right here at epinions.com I was introduced to eHealthinsurance.com. I looked them up.

This site has a myriad of providers, with rates, coverage details….It is a good place to start looking for coverage.

GEICO: Just Say No!!!!! - GEICO Direct

Seen ads frequently enough on GEICO? Yeah, me too. But just because they can spend mega bucks on ads doesn’t mean you should go with them. My, driving record, spotless, not even a ticket for parking in a handicapped spot, so I figured I’d search for the best rate right? After speaking with numerous companies I thought I’d try GEICO. Turns out they were the lowest, for the first 6 months then, BAM, out of nowhere they decided to jack my rate a whopping 25%, for no reason. No claims, no violations, just what they termed "an industry wide rate increase". Sound a little fishy? Yeah it did to me too, so I called other companies immediately to check into it. Turns out no other company heard of such a thing, not on my type of vehicle. Well needless to say I took my business elsewhere. I will give them credit for what I found to be good customer service and since I didn’t have a claim, I can’t comment on that aspect of their service, but before you spend the time switching companies, be sure the "save at least 15% on your car insurance" isn’t temporary.

I do not recommend this car insurance. - Prudential - Auto

Let me start this by telling you a little story. My boyfriend had his auto insurance through Prudential and paid his premiums like everybody else. He also trusted that when and if he needed them to come through, they would be there and be reliable. WRONG. First off, when I went to pay my auto insurance premium with State Farm, we had them quote him on insurance. They came up with better insurance and a premium that was HALF what he was paying prudential.
