8 September 2008August of last year, 1999, I had someone break in to my car and steal everything, my CD Player, my CD’s, they also broke the entire console, air condition and everything you can think about it. The good thing is that I had Insurance with All State. I thought it would take about a month to get my car fixed, but no, it was quick. This happened on sunday if I remember, and I had them inspect my car and they gave me a check right a way. No burocracy, it was very fast and reliable.

8 September 2008I would like to begin by telling you that I’m a mother of two who is married into the military. We started out at the bottom only E-1, and had to struggle. Being young we had to pick an insurance carrier that would take us due to our lack of experience. We started paying 150 dollars a month with a big name company, and to us that was a good rate. Although we were badly in debt we continued to pay the most important things. If I only knew then what I know now about car insurance we would have saved over 2400 dollars in a two year time frame.

8 September 2008For about three years, my wife and I used to have all kinds of problems with our car insurance companies. For some reasons, they were switching owners. We could never have the guarantee that the deal they gave us would last until the following month. Since we are a two-car family, we always had to find out that one car insurance had to be switched to a new company that offered new terms. It was so awful that I started worrying about wondering whether these insurances would deliver if we truly had a problem or an accident.

7 September 2008I have been with State Farm Insurance company since 1987 when I purchased my first car. Now my home is covered too (since 1991) and I have received the same prompt, excellent service as a homeowner.
Because I already had car insurance with State Farm, I didn’t really shop around for Home insurance. I knew that with multiple policies I would receive a discount on my home owners insurance, and at $18 per month, the savings could only be slight if at all. I live in a very nice mobile home on 4 acres of land, so I’m not covering a huge investment in real estate. Also, I have residual value insurance, as opposed to the more expensive "replacement value" insurance policy that is available.

I bought a used car in April of this year and was looking for auto insurance. I have seen those quirky commercials on TV so I thought I would go to their website and get a quote for my husband and myself.
You can get an online quote in about 15 minutes, and nobody will call you unless you ask them too. I found other insurance companies online that said they give you a quote, but then you have to leave your information and they call you back. I just never liked some high sales person calling me and trying to get me to get insurance through them.

7 September 2008When I bought a house, I decided to go with USAA home insurance. The service is rated high, and I’ve had USAA car insurance for 24 years. Best of all, USAA has some of the lowest prices for the coverage offered.
USAA financial services plus other benefits like group purchasing have grown over the years. The original idea was to offer insurance to military officers including family members. Then, it went military overall and relatives. Here is how they word it: “Active duty, National Guard and Reserve enlisted personnel, officers and officer candidates, and their families are eligible for membership in USAA.” If you’re not sure whether you qualify to use the services, then check the web page. It has a member sign in, but you can look at the bottom of the home page and see a click to check eligibility.

6 September 2008I did a ton of looking around for discount auto insurance. I looked at Geico and many of the other cheapies, and was starting to think about choosing one of them. Then I got a quote from a company that’s nationwide, owned by a giant auto company (so isn’t some fly-by-night) and gave me an awesome rate.
The company is NGIC — National General Insurance Company. I went with them and haven’t regretted it in the two years I’ve been with them. Also, their telephone help has been human and helpful.

4 September 2008USAA! Not just for active duty military personnel. They have clauses that allow the children of veterans, former service members, etc. I have had nothing but happiness from USAA’s automobile insurance. Their service has been the best of the small handful of agencies that I have used.
While stationed in Germany, USAA was able to give me support (in English) with near immediate results. When it came time to transfer with my two automobiles back to the states, the transfer of insurance to cover the shipment and temporary service before I re-registered my cars was smooth and effective.

3 September 2008USAA is an excellent insurance company. There isn’t much more that I can add to bring a different light to this company that hasn’t already been stated. Their coverage IS A+. Their customer service people ARE wonderful, caring and responsive to individual needs. Their rates ARE the best around. As I don’t want to "borrow" an opinion, I’ll state a few of their services that they have available to members that I have had personal experience with.

I switched my car insurance to Geico for the convience of online billing in January 2001. This was the biggest financial mistake of my life. My premium increased $170.00 per month as compared to my prior company and that was with the premium change from $100 deductible to a $1000.00 deductible. Bad judgement that almost landed me in the dog house by my husband, lol.
A couple of weeks my ago my friend referred me to her Farmer’s insurance agent. I switched immediately because I cut $140.00 per month off of my payments. That also included much more coverage and deductibles on both cars of $250.00 plus renter’s insurance of $20,000.00 with a $240.00 deductible, something I had never taken in the past.
To sum it up since I left Geico and the Gecko I have saved $140.00 per month, greatly increased my coverage, and was able to add the renter’s insurance….all of this for $140.00 per month less!!!
I am quite pleased with my new company and I would never recommend Geico to even my worst enemy. To top it all off in the beginning they had my coverage wrong and it took me 2 months to straighten that mess up. Bye Bye Geico, have a nice vacation Gecko!
