21 August 2008I leased my new car in early January. They wouldn’t give me the car at the time, unless I was completely insured. Unfortunately, at the time, it was on a Sunday, so I couldn’t get through to most of the insurance agencies I tried. I saw a commercial for Progressive on television, so I figured I’d give them a call.

1 August 2008I had Farmers Insurance for many years. I never liked their rates much and I decided to check out Progressive. I found out that I would be saving approximately $600.00 per year if I went with Progressive. My last accident was in 1988 and my last traffic violation was in 1996, so I basically had a clean record. So far so good. No accidents, violations or incidents (yet). I noticed this week that my insurance premium dropped quite a bit and I was pretty pleased about that.

17 July 2008I have used Allstate as my car insurance provider since I started driving 8 years ago. I really like this company. They have always been there when I needed them, and I find their rates to be very competitive.
I remember one time while I was driving to work, I was behind a truck and a stone flew up and hit my windshield, cracking it. I was very nervous about what would happen as far as my insurance went. However, I called my agent, and he contacted the proper people and had someone come to my place of work and repair the window right there in the parking lot! I thought that was great service.

13 July 2008I usually walk into insurance agencies with skepticism. This all changed when I went to an American Family insurance agent (DK Terrell in Minneapolis). I was greeted by a warm agent who went over my car and renters insurance options. I did a lot of research on my insurance and found that American Family provided the most options at the lowest prices. For me a good insurance agent is one who is available to help me with my concerns before and after purchase of the insurance policy. My American Family agent has been there for me.

28 June 2008I am working in the insurance industry at the agency level and, from a non-agent experience point of view,I can attest to the following facts.
Insurance companies and agencies are regulated by state entities.
As a customer an individual is linked to the source that has initiated issuance of the insurance policy. What this means is if you bought on line direct you are the customer of Progressive or other insurance company, however if you bought from an agent you are a customer of the agency that sold the Progressive or other company policy. As a customer of an agency you get to see the person selling and servicing your insurance and explain your needs to them. You can buy Progressive and many other insurance company products either way, direct or from the agent eye to eye.

23 June 2008I insured my first car with Geico 16 years ago under the military plan and I am still a happy customer! Low rates are a top concern for obvious reasons and I don’t want to compromise service. I’ve looked over the years at changing but I haven’t find another company that can offer anything better. Geico has always been there when I need them and I feel confidence that I’m getting good protection from a reputable company.

16 June 2008I have insurance experience, having worked for several years as an adjuster at one of the most common insurance agencies. I also had insurance with that company until I got married. I switched my car to add to his policy and my rates immediately dropped by quite a bit (although, some of that was due to the new rating of "Married").

29 May 2008We’ve had Allstate insurance as far back as I can remember and when I got my license I stayed with Allstate, but their latest screw up has led me to think about switching insurance agencies.
We’ve had a share of problems with Allstate over the years, but most of them I just shrugged off and forgot about until recently. There was the one time after my Mom died in a car accident that they raised our insurance rates (really high) and my Dad called up the office and asked why. He was told his insurance rates were increased because he had been in an accident. My Dad explained to the person that he wasn’t the one involved in the accident and the person who was was no longer with us. They didn’t take the hint, so he had to write the district office and then the state office to get them to lower his rates.
