USAA - BEST IN THE BUSINESS! - USAA Group - Auto

21 August 2008

EVERYONE NEEDS INSURANCE! So, how do you choose your insurance company? If you desire to be part of an insurance company that is owned by the members and has superb customer service, you should consider USAA. I’ve been a USAA member for nearly 25 years. In this time frame, I’ve made numerous moves and had two small claims. Every time I deal with USAA, they are polite, professional, and have a great desire to serve. In this day and age of dwindling or non-existent customer service, USAA is a breath of fresh air.

CGU Not that Great I Agree - CGU

18 August 2008

Last year my insurance agent tried to do me a favor by switching me to a less expensive car insurance. I was originally under my parents’ policy with Hanover. When I bought my own car, my agent told me that I would likely pay less than $1000 a year for insurance if I went with CGU. So I did.

Like a friend - State Farm Group - Auto

14 August 2008

"Like a good neighbor State Farm is there", in my opinion is a true statement. State Farm has insured all of the vehicles I have owned over the last fifteen years. When I decided to use them as my insurer they were at the time the "best deal" for all my needs. They had the lowest rates and, at that time, that was the most important thing; tops on my list. The agents were very friendly and kind. They would send me, and continue to send me, birthday cards, friendly reminders and special rates that I may qualify for. It was a relationship I never thought twice about, (make my payments on time and the both of us would be content), until I had my first accident. Both myself and another vehicle were merging onto a freeway "at the same time". Of course I was there first - so I say. Anyway, needless to say we hit each other. After exchanging all of the information and getting a police report, I immediately called my insurance agent and let him know of the situation. He told me just to wait and he would take care of it. My first thoughts were "yeah right. How much time, money and patients is this going to cost me?". About an hour later, my agent called me back and asked me where I was (location). After telling him, he asked me again to wait. Same thoughts! He called a little while later and told me that he had already made an appointment for me at the nearby State Farm office where they would give me an estimate of the damages! He did all of the leg work for me! I was then greeted by smiling faces and very kind people at their office. The adjuster came out to look at my vehicle and gave me an estimate. One that I believe was fair and very generous. They never questioned me once about the accident or about whose fault it was or anything like that. They just took my word and handed me a check right then and there.

Good agents, but they are TIGHT when it comes to money - State Farm Group - Auto

14 August 2008

I’ve been with State Farm ever since I started to drive in 1994. They’ve seen me through 3 automobile accidents, a stolen car and a stolen stereo. In my 6 years with them, we’ve been through a lot together.

Let me start off by saying that I’ve always had personable service from my agent. When I was 17 and got my license, my mom didn’t feel comfortable with me driving to the agent’s office because it was a lengthy drive, so the agent made a trip to our house to get my papers "in order." I got this nifty little packet about teenage driving and a whole assortment of goodies having to do with my policy, driving law, etc. The video she gave me was kind of hokey, but the thought that went into it felt "friendly" to me.

Why Don’t Agents Have to Stick To the Given Quote? - Nationwide - Auto

13 August 2008

My twenty year old daughter has just purchased her first car. I was very proud of the fact that she was shopping for a reasonable car, and she enlisted the help of my father. Since he was going to co-sign for her, it was important that he approve what she was purchasing.

They finally settled on a 1998 Ford Escort Sport, but she was also looking at a 1997 Ford Probe. We knew that the insurance on the Probe would be higher than the Escort since it was classed as a sports car.

The impact of using unlicensed employees to sell insurance. - USAA Group - Home

12 August 2008

I am writing this review on behalf of a client of mine that just got handed a $3,000 bill and was told by USAA that it would not be paid because he had the wrong kind of homeowner’s coverage on his policy.

I handle Mr. Smith’s financial investments and although I am also an insurance agent I have never been able to compete with USAA’s rates on homeowners and auto coverage. It is a simple concept, they don’t have agents that they have to pay a commission to, and therefore they can keep their rates a good 10-20% below the competition. However, I will be taking the policies from USAA after this renewal.

Like a good neighbor…Ha ha ha!! - State Farm Group - Auto

11 August 2008

I have been a member of the warm and fuzzy "State Farm Family" for the past 4 years. My whole family has car, house, travel trailer etc. etc. insurance with this company. Needless to say we give State Farm thousands and thousands of dollars every year. So in return we would expect to get a little of that neighborly love thrown our way…right? Ha ha ha…not even. Not too long ago I was involved in an accident that was entirely not my fault. After exchanging insurance info. with the elderly (obviously blind) woman who caused the accident, I find out that she also is insured by state farm. At first I’m thinking that this is a good thing. This is until I meet the insurance adjuster representing her. This man was down right rude, crude, lewd, and everything in between.Because of the personal differences I had with this adjuster he proceeded to tell me he was siding with the old woman because I wasn’t his favorite person. So he disregarded my witness and myself due to a personal conflict with me. After taking this up with my insurance agent…who did absolutely nothing to help me out(some neighbor!), I took it to the head boss man. Eventually I got my settlement and awarded my money. The bottom line, however, is that State Farm is in no way your neighbor. Unless your neighbor is always ripping you off and stealing your money! If you want a friendly insurance company you can scratch this one off your list.

Good STRONG Hands - Allstate - Auto

10 August 2008

I initially purchased Allstate insurance for my automobile because they offered me a "multi-policy discount" due to the fact that I had selected them for my homeowner’s insurance. I’d been with another car insurance company that I was ambivalent about, and seeing as how they were offering me the same coverage at a lower rate, I figured "why not?"

Now, I think it should be noted here that your insurance company is represented by your insurance agent - and if your agent isn’t any good, it’s my contention that you’re going to have nothing but problems with the company. The other thing that should be noted here is that total honesty on the consumer’s part generally will be met with ethical practices by the company.

Run don’t walk away from GEICO! - GEICO Direct

10 August 2008

GEICO Insurance let us down.

Will they do you wrong?

One accident and they dropped us like a rock:

We had been using GEICO for our car insurance for 15 years continuously when our son caused an accident (the first and only one in all that time by anyone in our family). The very next time that our policy was up for renewal, GEICO sent us a letter stating that everyone else on the policy would be allowed to continue to use GEICO is we either destroyed my son’s driver’s license or if we could prove in writing that we bought him automobile insurance with some other company. GEICO said that if we did not do what they required that our policy would not be renewed.

RELIABLE Car Insurance Company - Farm Bureau Mutual

7 August 2008

I have been with three different insurance companies since moving out on my own and not being on my parents’ policies (much to their delight!). My first company was State Farm. I didn’t have any problems with them, however, I also never had any claims to make with them. The reason I left them was due to their high rates once I had a couple of tickets on my record. I don’t know about other states, but in South Carolina you get points for each ticket you get. The number of points depends on what kind of ticket you get (speeding, DUI, etc.). Mine were for speeding. The points eventually reduce each year in half until gone.
