7/9/2004 - UPDATED LIBERTY MUTUAL AUTO POLICY
Liberty Mutual has been our Auto Insurance Carrier for about 15 years now. We also have them for our Homeowners Insurance as well.
We have 2 cars, a Saturn and a Lincoln Aviator. Our yearly insurance cost is $1617 for the two cars combined. We receive the following discounts from Liberty:

14 July 2008As a shopper for the best deal on auto insurance, I decided to give Progressive a call because my current policy was up for renewal. I was fairly confident I fell within a good rating category so I gave them a call.
I had all my current information out and handy, VIN #, drivers license, current account info, and any other key information. To my surprise, Progressive actually came back with a quote just under what I was currently paying, though only achieving this by the automatic monthly EIP payment plan. No problem though, as I try to get as many of my bills paid automatically and electronically.

Bubba came down with “something”- and I put that in quotes bcause not even the vet knew what it was he had. He was even quarantined, as in they put him away in this small closet sized room away from other animals in case he was contagious.
I almost lost him in 24 hours. He was throwing up all night. I, being stupid fugured he would be okay by morning, and he just ate something that turned his stomach.
By morning however he was almost dead when I woke up. I had rushed him to Riverheads 24 hour emergency veternarian.
14 days in the hospital. It was as if the vets had performed a miracle. His eyes were glazed when I brought him in. Looking ready to die. However, and thank the heavens, somehow Bubba made it. I thank the vet still to this day.

7 July 2008My monthly payments are now HALF of what they were using another, "stately" insurance carrier. Need I say more? - I do, but only to explain.
New Jersey Manufacturers is one of the good things about moving to New Jersey (and there are several others - New Jersey really gets an undeserved bad rep). Besides saving me a ton of cash - I’m completely serious about the half business, I have always found their customer service people to be 1)Nice, 2)Helpful and 3)There.

5 July 2008While not in the military I have USAA insurance through my father - and I will do just about anything to keep it.
I was in a car accident when I was 16 (and covered by USAA). My car was severely damaged, and the other car barely had a scratch. The other woman in the accident with me was a real pain, and seeing that I was young, went for the jugular. She was very disappointed to learn that I was handling the accident through my insurance company.

2 July 2008Allstate advertises that you will be in good hands. That’s about as far from the truth as possible. If you have a claim, they will deny it and fight every step of the way.
I am a retired personal injury lawyer and I have handled hundreds of claims from all the major insurance carriers and AllState is one of the worst. I have never seen the Good Hands People settle a claim fairly. I have seen them lie and cheat to try to save a buck, but never try to treat someone fairly.

Don’t pay claims in comparison with all other insurance companies on hail damage.
All neighbors with similar hail damage received full replacement costs from other insurance carriers.
There was extensive Hail Damage in Omaha, NE in May of 2001. Hartford is the only insurance company that I know of who was unwilling to cover the damage.
We had three construction companies estimate the damage to require new roof and new paint to our house. Hartford insurance still refuses to pay the claim. Our insurance payments have always been on time. This is our first house insurance claim with Hartford insurance.

11 June 2008I apologize that this is going to sound like deja vu, but “car insurance is perhaps one of the hardest products to review.” When I began my review of 21st Century Auto Insurance with that line little did I know that in less than two years I’d be once again changing insurance companies and once again reviewing a new insurance company.
As you can read from my previous reviews, 21st Century Auto Insurance was an excellent company that offered inexpensive car insurance because we fell into a particular professional group (educators) that allowed us to cut our insurance costs nearly in half. Before 21st, we had Geico which had excellent customer service and fast telephone response time but slowly over time continuously raised their rate for reasons they could never quite clearly communicate.
