Do you know your insurance agents name? - State Farm Group - Auto
15 July 2008Is he or she just someone you write a check to but never speak to? When you walk into their office can they say “Hi_____, how”s your husband _______? (Fill in the blanks) If not, then you”re dealing with the wrong people.
I have State Farm. When I walk in they know my name, my kids names, and my husbands name. They know where I live without me telling them. I couldn”t ask for more personal service. I highly recommend them to anyone. Their personal service has been the best to us and our loved ones who use their service.

13 July 2008I picked American Family Insurance because my sister in law recommened this agent to me for our new home owners insurance and all the others I will get to.
So I called the agent to see him and would like to discuss what I needed and what I didn’t need. It was very easy to get an appointment. And I was in a hurry to get the insurance I needed for our new house.
Me and my husband went in and found our agent to be very helpful. (Some of you may be thinking yeah because he wants your money) LOL!!

30 June 2008
I got into an accident two weeks ago as a result of being hit by a driver who had lost control of his vehicle. Since I have no rental insurance on my policy, I was without transportation due to the fact that the accident caused major damage to my truck. I attempted to get the insurance information of the other driver (which I could not get at the time of the accident since the other driver was taken away by an ambulance), but for days afterward the police had yet to get his information in their records. I called Geico for advice - I had not been in this situation before and was looking for information.
Unfortunately, no one I spoke with was willing to help me. I was told that the information of the other driver is not something Geico needs to know (I live in a no-fault state) and that they would not help me find it for my own records. Three days later (still with no transportation) I found out the other drivers name on my own and got his information in the local phone book.
Being unsure if it was considered appropriate for me to call him myself to find out his insurance information, I called Geico to seek advice. Again I was told that the other driver’s information was of no use to Geico. I could not get a straight answer for the simplest of questions.
I got the advice I needed from another insurance agency (Allstate, if you’re curious). They were very helpful on any questions I had. It bothers me that I’m not a client of theirs and they were more helpful in one phone call than in three days of trying to deal with Geico.
I called the other driver and was amazed to find out that his insurance company was also Geico. When I called Geico again and gave the other driver’s policy number I finally was allowed a rental car. When I asked why I wasn’t given the rental when it was first requested the customer service rep told me that I should have given Geico the other driver’s information right away. That is exactly what I was attempting to do, though no one at Geico was willing to help.
My fiancé is currently in the military. His regular address is in Maine. I live in New Hampshire and have been put on the policy since I will be keeping his car with me until he comes back. All contact about the policy should be handled by me until that time. When I was first put on the policy my fiancé called and explained the situation and gave my address and phone number. Yet still every time I have had to call Geico (and that is numerous times in the past week) I have to explain the situation to each representative and give all my information over again.
I wrote an email (since speaking to customer service on the phone was going nowhere) and asked why this whole situation has been so difficult. Today I received a phone call by a representative in response to my letter telling me that she had found out that the other driver was also covered by Geico and she was ready to set up my rental car. Not only was I bothered by this because, again, their records are obviously not well kept, but because, had I not taken matters into my own hands and called the other driver myself, I would have been without transportation for two weeks.
I find this all extremely unacceptable and will be switching to another company as soon as my policy expires. Paying a bit less per year is not worth the trouble of dealing with such an unorganized and unhelpful company.
Just say no to AIG - AIG - American International Group - Auto
29 June 2008I have always thought of myself as being able to find a deal, so when I called AIG (after receiving a price quote in the mail) and talking to the individual for about an hour I came to the conclusion that this was a deal I couldn’t pass up. The price was low, the coverage was wonderful, and the man on the other side of the phone assured me that AIG was rated A+++++ in customer service. They must have rated themselves because having AIG be my insurance company has been the worse thing that has ever happened. A few weeks ago my parked car got hit by a drunk driver who was to drunk to locate her insurance information, but a police report was made and AIG had some of her information. Rather then defending me and protecting me, as an insurance company is suppose to do, AIG tried to tell me that they couldn’t pay me because they didn’t know if this individual had insurance. I reminded them that I had bought the uninsured motorist coverage and it shouldn’t matter. After WEEKS AND WEEKS of fighting I was finally able to get the correct price for my car. It was the worse experience of my life and they handled everything miserably. There is so much more to this story but typing it would result in a million word essay, which isn’t necessary.

27 June 2008Before I get too far into this review, I want to mention that I have never filed a homeowners claim, so I am focusing on everything but claims experiences. Perhaps someone who has filed a claim will read this review and will be inspired to write about their claim filing experience.

25 June 2008I am a recent victim of an auto accident. The driver of a company vehicle insured by Fireman’s Fund, a Traveler’s agency, totaled my car. I live in Montana. The driver and his company were from Wisconsin. Because it was a company vehicle there was no insurance information available. I had to call the company that hit me to find out who their agency was. I then talked with a man from Fireman’s Fund that assured me they would get right on this matter. My claim was then sent to Minnesota and then to Seattle, where I finally received an adjuster and a claim number. Once that took place a private insurance agent from a local company was sent to look at my car. Then I heard from Seattle who offered me a low ball figure for my perfect, (before it was totaled) loaded car. After arguing with no avail with the Seattle adjuster, I called the company that hit my car. A very nice man called his agent in Wisconsin who told me he would do what he could to help me. A couple days later we heard from the adjuster in Seattle who then offered me more money and the check was over-nighted to me, two days after the final offer. My warning is that this company seems to have offices all over the country, but only one office can deal with each part of the claim. This entire process took me four weeks. I did receive a rental car after the first week, but the minute the first offer was extended to me, they wanted the rental car returned. I didn’t even have a check yet to go buy a new car with. They were unfair, but came around a little in the end. You’ve just got to know who to talk to.

25 June 2008A couple years back, I was returning to the Phoenix Airport after a conference in Scottsdale. I was on the prowl for a gas station so I could fill up the tank before returning the car to National. (I was the first person to rent the car I was driving!)

15 June 2008I have been married for over twenty years and for the last 16, we have been insured by Allstate. In that time we have made only two claims ~ once when we were hit by a drunk driver over 14 years ago and then again last month.
To make a long story short, on July 3rd, a car came over two lanes and turned into my lane, coming straight at me! The ONLY thing I had time to do was turn the front part of the car to the right so that he would hit my side and not my daughters. That was it, I saw it coming, turned the wheel and he hit us!

14 June 2008The scene: A beautiful early summer day at the beach. We’ve just gotten back to the cottage and I’m in the shower. A car alarm goes off and my sister says - Hey - I need your keys. Someone just hit your car in the drive way.
I get out of the shower to find that a girl WITHOUT A LICENSE has just backed her mothers Jeep into the rear end of my Lexus. Apparently she was confused between the gas and the brake.
