I do not recommend this car insurance. - Prudential - Auto
16 August 2008Let me start this by telling you a little story. My boyfriend had his auto insurance through Prudential and paid his premiums like everybody else. He also trusted that when and if he needed them to come through, they would be there and be reliable. WRONG. First off, when I went to pay my auto insurance premium with State Farm, we had them quote him on insurance. They came up with better insurance and a premium that was HALF what he was paying prudential.

16 August 2008InsureRate.com offers consumers the ability to comparison shop for all types of insurance, including health, life, auto, homeowner, and even Pet insurance.
What I like most about this site is that it offers a comprehensive list of companies and provides instant quotes for most of the insurance companies, as well as the ability to apply for insurance online.
Also, InsureRate.com is partnered with various carriers and companies including EhealthInsurance.com, and Progressive Insurance Online, which allows you to receive an instant quote and apply online which is very convenient. And although the site is great if you’re looking for comparison rates (for insurance), I was already familiar with eHealthInsurance.com, which provides the health insurance quotes and info (so that wasn’t a big help).

13 August 2008My twenty year old daughter has just purchased her first car. I was very proud of the fact that she was shopping for a reasonable car, and she enlisted the help of my father. Since he was going to co-sign for her, it was important that he approve what she was purchasing.
They finally settled on a 1998 Ford Escort Sport, but she was also looking at a 1997 Ford Probe. We knew that the insurance on the Probe would be higher than the Escort since it was classed as a sports car.

11 August 2008The one bad review I read here sounds like an administrative screw-up to me. I once had a "misquote" experience with National and figure that occasionally happens with all insurance companies.
Having said that I should state that I have had no problems with GEICO during the past five years. My car was once vandalized and quickly settled. GEICO rates literally can’t be beat in my case. I sent an insurance quote request to every insurer for my area and did not find anything remotely close to their rates. Their 24-hour service desk is also helpful for those of us without free time during normal business hours.

3 August 2008My husband and I have had State Farm auto insurance on at least one vehicle for the whole 8 year of our marriage.
When we were ready to add a second vehicle, we called and shopped around for rates. Because of our A+ rating, they could not be beat for identical coverage.
We were building our house and had to get insurance on it. I once again called around and though I would one place that was cheaper for homeowners, State Farm gave us a multi-line discount which lowered out auto coverage premiums a total of $102 a year. That doubled out savings of going with the other company.

31 July 2008Since there’s not a category for mobile home insurance or mobile homes listed this is the closest I can find. Last year we purchased a new single wide mobile home. We knew that living on the coast would make our insurance higher than other places but not this high! I contacted Farmer’s Insurance in Oct ‘99 about getting a policy from them. WOW they had a great policy but with our busy lives I forgot to follow through. Now I WISH I had! They have changed their policy writing procedures and of course they can’t find our quote and we’re going to be stuck paying $1500 a year for insurance. AND this policy isn’t anywhere near as good as the one they quoted me. It does beat the $2200 cost of our existing policy.

If I told you what I paid for six months of no frills, minimum liability insurance at Geico, you’d say I was lying.
But I am a special case. Every time I went into an agent’s office in my State of Oklahoma, I knew I’d rather have a root canal. I was polite knowing that if I described my ‘hardly ever drive’ status, that they’d say ‘…hmmmm’ and list me as a risk anyway. Single. Middle-aged. No recent insurance. ‘ugh huh." Get ready to bend over. The other day I had the check written from that position when it dawned on me that I’m a good and reasonable human being who deserves better. I aborted the deal.

29 July 2008I have been a loyal State Farm Auto Insurance customer for 15 years. Upon my recent move to Georgia ten months ago, I have really learned to hate State Farm. As of this week, I went insurance shopping and am leaving State Farm.
I enjoyed relatively low rates with State Farm, on their good drivers program, but recently found that I was still paying way more than I needed to for full coverage. After doing some shopping, I found better coverage for much less money, and lower monthly payments too. It really does pay to go shopping with insurance companies, and I was able to compare many rates right here on the internet.

27 July 2008
I have had auto insurance through this company since age 16. In the twelve years they had my policy, I never once talked to my actual agent. I had to file two claims and neither time did I ever speak to the agent. I only talked to the woman who answered the phone…she took all my information.
Recently, I bought a home owner’s policy through this company. I did not shop around, which was a mistake on my part. I had to change my address for my auto policy. My premium went up over two hundred dollars! When I asked for an explanation, I was told “that’s just the way it is”. I called the following day after getting insurance quotes from other agencies. I was astonished when I discovered I could get more coverage for less! I was even more astonished when I spoke to the actual insurance agents, not their receptionists!
I consider myself to be a highly educated individual although, will admit, I know little about insurance. I decided to call Farm Bureau back to get an explanation on the HUGE increase in premium. I spoke to the receptionist who, this time, said “Well, it’s because of where you live…that’s just how it is”. I told her I had been shopping around for other quotes and asked if they did any sort of “matching”. She rudely snapped at me and said “That’s now how insurance works…your premium is what we decide and that’s what you’ll pay”. I was shocked. I understand my question might have been “stupid” but she could have spoken in a kinder tone to me.
I have not had any claims in five years, never had a ticket, always paid on time. Never once in my experience with FB did my agent sit down with me and explain the details of either policy (home owner’s or auto). The only “comunication” I recieved were statements when my premiums or annual dues were due.
I have recently switched my auto to another company. I was impressed that when I called this agent on his cell that he answered it in the check-out line of a Sam’s. He drove 45 minutes to my office so I could meet him and sign one paper. He explained the ins and outs of the policies to me and did not pressure me.
