GEICO: Good Service & Fair Prices - GEICO Direct
19 July 2008GEICO sells their auto insurance directly to the public, through a few local offices, but primarily through a toll free number. Remember one phone number and you can contact someone anytime day or night regarding anything from getting a quote to getting a claim filed. That is one selling point made in GEICO’s advertising. The advertising gets new customers but can their service and prices keep these customers? I will share my experiences below.

20 June 2008Car insurance is perhaps one of the hardest products to review. Your opinion can change month to month, policy to policy, and can either be inflated or deflated depending on what happens when you really need them most. In my life I’ve been a member of State Farm, Geico, and now 21st Century. Each has treated me well as I have needed them, except for their rising costs. Here’s what I have learned so far:

19 June 2008I changed from Statefarm too Hartford for all my insurance needs auto and house insurance, because I was paying approximatly $500 more for my car and house insurance with Statefarm.I first became a member of th AARP group and started getting quotes. The people were very polite and got back to me in about a week with the written quotes on both my new car and my house. I cancelled Statefarm insurance and when I purchased my car I was signed up instantly and received a written letter explaining coverage and cost.The best of Hartford is low cost and not talking too an agent but too their polite staff.I have not found any faults too date. Retired people should switch too Hartford. Younger people should try them but only if the received a better quote then with other providers.

5 June 2008As a single 25 year old male, with a couple of points on my license and owner of two sports cars, (one of them a convertible); car insurance takes quite a bit of my paycheck. I’m aware of how important is to have car insurance, especially in south Florida, down here I would also recommend a “full time” insurance company open 24/7. I like the fact of being able to do changes and payments to my policy on the spot without being restricted to the agency’s business hours.

16 May 2008I have been with GEICO for the last 10 or so years. I thought the prices seemed reasonable and payment on minor dings and dents has not been too bad. Last year I was in an accident where a fellow ran a stop sign and my car was totaled. Both of us were insured by GEICO. I had pretty minor injuries on my leg, went to the doctor and physical therapist. I turned in a lost income statement for the few hours that I was at the Dr and Physical therapist. GEICO has been jerking me around over this comparatively small amount for almost an entire year. They use a variety of tactics to keep from paying my claim. There are two that they seem to like best. One is to keep asking for additional information. The second is to claim they never received the additional info.
