We bought a nice home in New Jersey, and went looking for home insurance.We had approval from a couple of other well know companies who came over, inspected and measured our new home, but upon a recommendation from a friend, decided on Allstate.
After three weeks of occupancy we were informed that we were being cancelled. The reasons - Our grass was not cut,the house was not painted and we had one railing missing from our back porch (not true)the railings are there. We just moved in and as with any house in a transition period it takes a little more than three weeks to get it in shape. I also have never filed a claim in all the previous seven homes I’ve owned.
So, if your home is not in absolute picture perfect model shape when you buy it,and you take a few weeks before you buy a lawnmower to cut the grass, do not waste your time with Allstate.
