I had been with this company for three years, having my home warranty from them.
In May 2007 - I had my kitchen faucet broken. This was the first time, I had them do some decent work for my home. Altough talking to people, I figured fixing faucet, isn’t a big deal but these folks certainly made it look like one.
They sent a contractor who started complaining that the first american pays them little money and this job required the company to pay them more. I told him this has nothing to do with me, he should deal directly with the company. He starts the work and doesn’t fix faucet correctly. He gets more frustated and leaves. He comes back 2 hours latter but still cannot complete work. He says he is going to get his boss to complete the work - his boss comes next day and takes a look at the faucet and decides this is the best they can do.
I’m angry at this point in time because the faucet is leaking water inside my kitchen cabinet and call first american again. They say, they will have another contractor look come and take a look at it. This guy comes over and tells since the first contractor screwed up the job, he should come and fix it.
I call first american again and they say that I should caulking around their poorly fixed faucet. I talk to many people and none of them have had caulking around faucet.
First american now asks me to fix the faucet through my contractor and send them the bill. I tell them that I did not buy home warranty from them to do the work myself and they don’t understand.
now first american sends me a bill and asks to pay up for work they did not complete. I need to take these guys to court.
