Do you think anyone can actually “love” an insurance company? Though it sounds crazy, I do. USAA is the best. I’ve been a member for over 8 years and I use them for my Auto (and renter’s) Insurance. I’ve never had any problems with this company.
Claims - no problem! I had a claim about a year ago on my car and simply called the toll free number. Within no time they’ve collected the information and given me a listing of several places I can take the car for estimates. I choose the local USAA office with estimate department on site. 30 minutes later, I have my estimate and a check is on the way for repair. Or, if you choose, you can take it to one of their many affiliated auto shops/garages and all they estimates/repair/payment is done directly with the shop. No hassle for you at all. Cool, huh?
Rates. Their rates are the best I’ve found and I’ve done a lot of shopping around. Like Geico ($450/6 months), Progressive ($700/6 months) and other similar prices. With USAA I pay less than $230/6 months. Now that’s savings!
One thing I love about the company is there are NO individual agents to go through (my apologies to any insurance agents out there, nothing personal). I’ve had bad experiences in the past with individual agents giving my the runaround and trying to sell me products that I don’t want because it benefits them personally. With USAA, you just call the toll free number and ANYONE in the department can help with customer service or claims. It’s so much easier.
Another thing that is great about this company is that they can insure your car internationally. OK, so this isn’t something everyone would use but should you relocate to another country and wish to buy and insure a car, it’s no problem. Same company can handle the insurance.
They also insure RV’s, cargo/utility trailers and more. Their rates on these vehicles are CHEAP! Also, if you own vehicles in different states they can take care of that too.
USAA has a great website. You can view all of your bills and accounts online. I’ve always found the site to load quickly and have very good navigation. They also have excellent website security. They now offer several options for online delivery of all of your insurance papers. That’s right - no more filing tons of papers away for insurance you can view them online, print what you need, and save the file on your hard drive. This is a great option if you travel a lot. USAA always seem to keep up with new technology online.
You should call USAA about the current eligibility requirements. It is typically for military personnel, their dependents and descendants. However, if you are eligible, TRY THIS COMPANY OUT! They’re awesome.
