In Good Hands? - Allstate - Auto Allstate advertises that you will be in good hands. That's about as far from the truth as possible. If you have ...

I have to say, I never expected a "nice" insurance company. It’s true…you should always expect the unexpected. Allstate was the unexpected.

On September 1, 2000, my car was broken into. The CD player, cell phone, checks, purse, spare key, and other items were stolen. Of course, the window was smashed, and the tint gone. And the thief left blood in the car. After filling out the police report, I called my agent to report it. He gave me a claim number, and told me that if I got lost in the fray of automobile claims, to give him a call, and he’d help me out.

An hour after I reported the claim to Allstate, one of their customer service agents called me. During the conversation, she asked if there was anything I needed to have done right away. I told her the window needed to be replaced. An hour after I got off the phone with her, I had my car in a glass shop having the window replaced. She never hesitated to get it done RIGHT THEN!

While the car was in the shop, the local claims representative called me. During the conversation, she said that Allstate would pay for the CD player, and some of the other stuff. She was even kind enough to tell me her home phone number, should I need anything more. She was absolutely fantastic! Very caring, very informative, and very thoughtful.

On September 2, 2000 (just one day after the theft), I met with a claims adjuster. She surveyed the damage, and settled the claim. She gave me a list of items that needed to be replaced (some of which I didn’t see when inspecting the car for damage). That day, I was able to replace the CD player. She also gave me enough money to have the car detailed to remove the blood.

The process I went through was NOT stressful. I was dreading the insurance process, because I sure didn’t need any more stress! From my agent to the claims adjuster, everyone was extremely helpful, understanding, and patient. I fully believe Allstate’s motto of "You’re in good hands." I truly am. And I will never switch insurance companies! They helped get life back to normal that very same day!
